Albury Blooms stores sees Steve Waugh at launch

Blooms The Chemist brand ambassador Steve Waugh opened two new Albury stores this week.
Pharmacy-owners Ben Fifield, Jason Holdstock and Alyce Heffernan were joined by the former Australian cricket captain for a live Triple M on-site broadcast at the Townsend Street store.
“We’re passionate about working with our customers to meet their health needs,” Mr Holdstock said. “We offer a wide range of services including medication packing, free script reminders and MedsChecks, and a price match guarantee. Our health checks cover a variety of health services and concerns, including free blood pressure checks and glucose testing.”

Mr Holdstock and his wife Ms Heffernan recently moved to Albury from Sydney aiming to bring the Blooms The Chemist brand to the border and raise a family. As timing would have it, the couple welcomed their first child into the world just in time for the launch.

The radio broadcast was followed by a lunch at the Newmarket Hotel in East Albury. Guests included lucky locals who’d won invitations by stumping one of the presenters on the Breakfast Show by asking them curly cricket questions.

Steve Waugh talked about his career highlights, the Steve Waugh Foundation’s The Captain’s Ride fundraising event and his work with Blooms The Chemist as their brand ambassador.

“I’m proud to represent Blooms The Chemist, as its core value aligns perfectly with my belief of giving back to the community. Mixing with the local community and exchanging stories was a fantastic way to get to better know the people in this region.”

Blooms The Chemist is now located at two Albury locations: West End Plaza 487 Kiewa Street and 491 Townsend Street.
