Chemist Warehouse foots grand prizes at AFL and NRL

Chemist Warehouse is again preparing for one of its biggest branded activations, with the placing of cushions filled with premium products on 100,000 seats at the Melbourne Cricket Ground ahead of the 2018 AFL grand final tomorrow (September 29).

The cushion promotion was implemented for the first time at last year’s AFL grand final, and this year Chemist Warehouse has added a ‘million-dollar kick’ competition  with one lucky participant given the chance to win a $1 million prize during three-quarter time in the match with an on-field kick.

Chemist Warehouse will also place 83,500 seat cushions filled with premium products on each seat of Sydney’s ANZ Stadium ahead of the NRL grand final on Sunday (September 30). In addition, one Chemist Warehouse customer will get an opportunity to win $1 million with an on-field kick at the half-time break.

From yesterday, 100 vans would have delivered more than 700 pallets of product to the MCG, where 300 Chemist Warehouse staff will cover seats with the product-filled cushions across the sporting venue.

Meanwhile, 600 pallets of product would have been delivered to the ANZ Stadium, where 250 Chemist Warehouse staff were due to cover the seats .

Chemist Warehouse Chief Operating Officer Mario Tascone says he is thrilled to be supporting the NRL and AFL for their grand finals.

“We are beyond excited to partner with the NRL and AFL for their 2018 grand finals, for the most iconic days in Australia’s sporting calendar, to hold our biggest branded activations to date,” he said.

NRL Chief Commercial Officer Andrew Abdo said: “Chemist Warehouse are a valued partner of the game and are providing our fans with an innovative and unique game-day experience.”

AFL General Manager Commercial Kylie Rogers said: “Chemist Warehouse’s seat-cushion giveaway on all seats of the MCG last year’s grand final was a massive hit with fans, and I’m excited fans will again have products on hand to help them get through the exciting day.”
