Hunt walks for autism

A few short days ago, Minister for Health Greg Hunt officially set off on a 500km walk around his electorate to increase awareness about autism and raise funds for the Abacus Learning Centre, Hastings and the Light Up Autism Foundation.

“Throughout the 18-day walk, I will visit more than 50 schools in my electorate to raise awareness of autism and will be encouraging schools and community groups to support my fundraising effort.

“This year I am aiming to raise $30,000 to help children and their families living with autism.

“Funds raised will be divided between Light Up and Abacus to help them continue to provide valuable support for children with autism.

“I encourage anyone who knows someone with autism to walk with me for 1km, a day, or any part of the walk to help me support this cause or to meet me along the way for a coffee and a chat.”
