Through this initiative, Ms Brown brought together a range of health and lifestyle providers, giving the community an opportunity to come together, share experiences and learn about new health initiatives.
The Samford Health Expo has grown from its beginnings four years ago with 15 stalls in a school hall in the town, to offering more than 100 stands and exhibits at this year’s event held last Saturday in John Scott Park.
“It’s a fantastic event that brings the local businesses and sports and support groups of Samford together to promote the health and wellbeing of the community,” Ms Brown said.
“Hundreds of people attended throughout the day and experienced the selection of stands and ‘healthy food’ trucks, along with demonstrations including those from local fitness groups.”
TerryWhite Chemmart CEO Anthony White said Ms Brown’s commitment to the Samford community deserved to be recognised and applauded.
“Karen understands what her local community needs and she has opened the doors of TerryWhite Chemmart to the entire community to generate discussion on ways people can improve their wellbeing and lead healthy and active lifestyles,” he said.
